Abstract:
Primary Health Care is one of the basic rights of the people. In Bangladesh, the state has developed strong partnership with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to pursue Health for All. One NGO, Gonoshasthaya Kendra (People’s Health Center) is highly commended at home and abroad for its contributions. However, the relationship between Gonoshasthaya Kendra and government (in the past and present) of  Bangladesh has raised the question whether Democracy and Primary Health Care compliments each other.
